Evaluation:

(i) Reading Summaries or Journal (50%):

You should continue with the approach you selected in the ISD I course.

Reading Summaries: Before the Christmas break, there will be 3 sets of assigned readings (one for each E/H/HL session).  Students must submit a brief (one page) summary and critical analysis on one article from two of these sets of readings.

After the Christmas break, there will be 6 sets of readings.  Students must submit a summary and critical analysis on one article from 5 of these sets of readings.

Unless you are notified otherwise, reading summaries are due at the start of the E/H/HL session for which the reading was assigned.

Journal: In lieu of writing the reading summaries students may keep a journal similar to the one kept throughout first year CS/EH. Periodic review of the journal with one of the instructors will be required. Further detail regarding the evaluation of this option will be provided.

(ii) Essay(s) (50%):

In the ISD I course, you either opted to write three short essays or one long essay. You should continue on with the option you selected.

Short Essays:  For each ISD II course a suggested list of E/H/HL topics will be provided. Students will write two short (4-6 page) critical reflections.  The first must be submitted by Jan. 31, 2003  the second by May 30, 2003. Students may write on a topic other than those suggested but must receive approval of one of the instructors

Long Essay: You should have already selected a topic and discussed it with one of the instructors.  This assignment must be completed by March 31, 2003.
