LIN 3104: Instructions for viewing exercises

If your home computer / web browser (Internet Explorer, Opera, Safari, FireFox, etc.) does not display the phonetic characters correctly, I recommend that you do this:
  1. Download and install FireFox. Download the "English" version that matches your operating system. Do not download the English (British) version.
  2. Download the Doulos SIL font.
  3. Download MacroMedia's Flash Player.
  4. Download Apple's QuickTime Player.
  5. Read this FireFox FAQ sheet section to find out how to install Firefox.
  6. Read this FireFox FAQ sheet section to find out how to install the Flash Player plugin.
  7. Read this FireFox FAQ sheet section to find out how to install the QuickTime Player plugin.
  8. Read the "fonts and colours" link on the FireFox "Options/Preferences Window" page to find out how to set your browser to display unicode, using the Doulos SIL font. However, instead of using their examples, do the following:

    1. From the "Fonts for" drop-down list, choose Unicode.
    2. Ignore the "Proportional" drop-down list.
    3. Choose "Doulos SIL" for the "Serif", "Sans-serif" and "Monospace" drop-down lists.
