RAC NL Bulletin nlb0609 1) It's official: we have another 160m dxcc in VO land. The latest recipient of this prestigious award from the ARRL for making 2 -way contact with 100 countries is Frank VO1HP. Frank has been very active on 160m both as an operator and experimenter. There are only about a dozen Canadian amateurs who have reached this level of achievment. Congratulations Frank! 2) Gene Zimmerman W3ZZ who writes the 50 MHz and Up column for QST is interested in reports from VO land to the amazing Es season on 6 this summer Gene said he'd " like to see the view from VO since you get openings that the rest of us don't, even in a good summer like this one" in recent correspondence to the NL SM who is compiling a report. Please forward any info to VO1NA at rac.ca. 3) MOU with EMO: This is a formal request to all clubs in section to add their names to to the draft document. Please advise any member of the Field Oganisation now so your club will be recognised. 4) Volunteers needed for the FO and new members are always welcome. Please see rac.ca/nl for info on how to join RAC. 5) Band Plans: concerns have been voiced about the lack of adherence to the band plans. Please abide by the band plans and if this creates a problem for you, please make your concerns known to the RAC field organisation so that they can be dealt with by RAC.
