CB, on "Gotta Work "

“The Princess and the Frog” has received much criticism due to the representation of the first African American Disney Princess, Tiana, as coming from the slums of New Orleans, being of low class compared to the rich white family of her white best friend, and being set in post-Civil War Louisiana. However, putting these issues aside, this film has a great message for children, that hard work pays off and doing what you love will make you happy.   Tiana works very hard to get her own restaurant to serve authentic Louisiana cuisine, a dream of her late father's. She works double shifts at other restaurants and struggles to raise the money required to buy a building and start on her way to getting reaching her goal.   Tiana goes through many periods where she feels down and as though her dream is too far away, but she is very consistent and never stops trying. She works hard and is enthusiastic about having her dream come true. She works hard through tough times; growing up without her beloved father after he passed away and juggling two jobs. In the end her hard work pays off and she gets everything that she worked for: a swanky restaurant to fulfill her father's wish and her own dream. Not to mention that she follows in the footsteps of every other Disney Princess; she falls in love and marries a handsome prince.
