CD, on "Gotta Be Somebody "

Commentary: Many critics of Disney claim that Belle was a victim of domestic violence by the Beast in Disney's animated film Beauty and the Beast. However, I believe that this is not the case. The Beast was angry about how he had been fooled in the past and was destined to spend his life as an animal locked in a castle, but he was truly in love with Belle. Even though he wanted to become human and spend his life as a prince with Belle, she would have loved him the way he was. To illustrate Beast's love for Belle and how his character changed due to her love, I have chosen the song Gotta be Somebody by Nickelback. I feel that this song effectively portrays Beast's longing to be with somebody and, ultimately, his longing for Belle's love.
