JS, on "Higher"

Commentary: Quasimodo is one of the most kind hearted characters seen in any Disney animated film. He is kept shut away, deemed a ‘monster' by society (and Frollo) while in reality he is anything but.   All Quasimodo wants is to be free of the confines of Notre Dame and to be able to join the people of France, most notably at the Festival of Fools. In time, and with the help of the lovely Esmeralda, he makes his dreams a reality and becomes the person he truly is. Higher by Creed seemed like the best choice of song to help convey this idea of Quasimodo taking risks to become the person he wants to be. For example, he risks Frollo's wrath by helping Esmeralda escape Notre Dame. This theme of self-discovery runs through-out the entire film. In my opinion this theme is extremely important in understanding the film and is why I chose to represent it in the form of a video.
