BK, on "Beauty and the Beast - White Horse."

Belle is a very unique character throughout the film “Beauty & the Beast”. She is a woman who is unlike other female characters throughout the film because she is portrayed as someone who wants more than a simple life with a man who is adored by others in the town. I chose the song “White Horse” by Taylor Swift for a number of reasons. Belle is an unusual princess who doesn’t fall in love with a prince, but turns a beast into a prince. Some may believe that she had no other choice but to love the Beast because he was holding her captive. However, I do not believe this is the case. I believe this shows how one cannot control who they fall in love with and that it is okay to love someone that may not be who society considers to be the right choice. In the video I have made Belle breaks free from the man she doesn’t love to the man who transforms into her prince. Furthermore, this film teaches an idea that once you find someone to love then they become your own prince. I also chose the song “White Horse” because it just shows how Disney affects every part of society. This song is a recent pop culture song and it shows that the idea of prince and princesses still are a strong theme in our lives. I think this song shows how Belle isn’t a typical princess in a typical fairytale that we often hear about.
