MUN Academic Conduct Roundtable (index page)
KNI (Kim) Bell, Biology, and E (Eileen) Bragg, Instructional Development
PURPOSE: This roundtable has been initiated to help work toward solutions to concerns expressed by those attending a workshop (May 07 2002) on academic misconduct.
We are calling it a round-table in order to make it open.
We would like to collect opinions and suggestions. Some of those generated so far will be seen in the e-mail thread and/or posted here. (If you want a document posted here, send it, or the link to it, to one of us.)
If there upcoming open meetings/discussions, we'll notify you of the time and place by e-mail (request to be on the mailing list) and post it here. Please attend if you can.
Kim's preliminary thoughts: Key issues and practical
needs relating to academic (mis)conduct.
Eileen's
thoughts on how to proceed as a group and get the
message out.
2005: plagiarism is as much a concern as ever.
Kim's document on plagiarism (the 3 D's of plagiarism, and the 'good, the bad and the ugly') and page on academic misconduct are on the Biology Help Centre -- see also the test rules/notices etc., for faculty use (but students welcome to read also).
Please e-mail Kim to join in and make further contributions to the discussion. See also Discussion Forum for MUN Strategic Planning Discussion.
