A 48 Bar Jig Medley for four couples
   
 Part 1:- A Slow Jig
  bars movement
  1 - 2 1st couple advance for one step, join right hands momentarily, and retire for one step.
  3 - 4 1st couple, giving left hands, cross over. 1st woman remains facing out, 1st man faces in.
  5 - 8 1st woman casts off one place, dances up between the 2nd couple and casts off into second place on her own side. 1st man dances across the top of the set and casts off into second place on his own side. 2nd couple step up on bars 7 & 8.
   
  9 - 10 1st couple advance for one step, join right hands momentarily, and retire for one step.
  11 - 12 1st couple, giving left hands, cross over.
  13 - 16 1st couple dance a half figure of eight up through the 2nd couple.
1st couple are now in second place on their own side.
   
  17 - 24 1st and 2nd couples dance the knot. 1st couple end between 2nd couple, 1st woman facing the 2nd man and 1st man facing the 2nd woman.
 Part 2:- A Lively Jig
  bars movement
  1 - 12 1st couple dance the spurtle with 2nd, 3rd and 4th couples.
1st couple turn by right hand on bars 11 & 12 to end in fourth place on the opposite side of the dance.
  13 - 14 All four couples, giving right hands, cross over.
  15 - 16 All dance eight hands round to the left.
  17 - 20 All dance into the centre for one step, then, pulling right shoulder back, all dance out clockwise in a chase.
  21 - 24

All dance eight hands round to the left to end on own side of the dance.

The order is now 2, 3, 4, 1.

   
Repeat the dance with a new first couple.
