My Interests...

I am currently a research assistant for Dr. Paul Snelgrove at the Ocean Sciences Centre, Memorial University.  My work for Dr. Snelgrove includes zooplankton identification, benthic fauna identification and ichytoplanton identification.  My work also involves chlorophyll analsysis, CHN analysis and grain size analysis.  I began with Dr. Snelgrove in May of 2000 as a student in my last semester of university.  After completing a B.Sc. at Memorial (Major in Biology, Minor in Geography) I began work as a full-time research assistant in September of 2000.  Previous to attending university, I attended Lawrence College in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada and received a diploma as a Veterinarian Attendant.  I then worked for 5 years at the Avalon Animal Hospital in St. John's, Newfoundland.  I am currently working on my Bachelor of Education (Post-secondary).

I am from a small community in Notre Dame Bay called Beaumont (also known as Long Island).  It involves taking a 5-minute ferry ride from Pilley's Island.  It has a population of approximately 250people and it's a community that you should definitely make a point to visit in your travels.  I also have a 6 year old Golden Retriever named Chance and a 7 year old cat named Friday.
