The only real audio application running on this machine is the feed for the CHMR-FM campus radio station. A direct feed from the monitor console is fed to a soundcard in a Celeron PC which uses the RealAudio Encoder to stream-feed the RealServer on the MUN web page at 28k, 56k and 132 kbps. The Intrernet broadcast quality is excellent.

A second live radio feed is now being presented via Shoutcast from a
separate encoder machine. The encoder is liveice with the Frauhofer
MP3enc (commercial version).
I need to experiment with various sampling rates, but for now it's a 64 Kbps
