A Green Hill Far Away

German artillery hits Church Hill

German artillery is called against Church Hill.  In the background can be seen a Panzer III that has advanced down off the hill into the valley.
Artillery duel

At one point, artillery is blasting on both sides of the valley.  To the right can be seen German infantry trying to pick their way to Church Hill.  To the far left, on the other side of the road can be seen some more infantry action.
Tim's infantry start cleaning up Jason's positions

Here we see more German infantry assaulting US positions.  Tim begins making some serious headway in the infantry battle, but unfortunately, by this time, with Joes Panzer III platoon wiped out and the two Nashorns immobilized or destroyed, the German armoured strength doesn't look like a very viable opponent to the remaining US armour.
Company commander's command post

The American company commander's command post, situated in the church's graveyard.  The machine gun has come out of the church and is also situated in the graveyard.  Revell figures.  To the right is Tim's armour on the hill.
Artillery continues to fall

Another view of the artillery barrage hitting German armour.
German infantry advances

One of Tim's infantry squads advance.  These are both Airfix and the Panzer III in the background is Matchbox.

Tim and Joe conceded the battle to Jason and Dave.  Despite the odds being well stacked in the German favour, we managed to louse it up.  US infantry casualties were heavy, but not without inflicting serious casualties on Joe's infantry.
