A "Split Game" Hypothetical Scenario
Game #1 Heer troops of 7th Panzer move to take a French held town stradling a vital crossroads.
Game #2  Shaken SS providing flank security for the town assault are counterattacked by British infantry supported by french armour.

Warning: if historically inaccurate miniature substitutions (such as, to the left, an Arfix Pz IVF1 standing in for a Ausf C/D/E) rankle your ire, then leave immediately!

1. A blurred picture of one of the Panzer IIs which accompanied the 1st  German infantry company's initial assault.  Revell troops and an ESCI Panzer II.  The camera jiggled a little, but it resulted in an "action" type of shot...  (table) 1. A British 18/25 pounder in position to directly shell German positions.  Field gun is scratch built (I built three of these, thanks to plans mailed to me by Marc Raiff) and manned, by, yes, Airfix commandos - we use loose figures to man our field and AT guns.  (table)
2. A German platoon runs into trouble with a Matchbox FT-17 behind a bluff.  After being pinned down for a considerable amount of time, they were able to start moving again, once the German Panzer IV platoon was called as reinforcements (see colour picture at top of this page).  Figures are Revell & Airfix, with an Airfix flamethrower.  (table) 2. French armour on the move.  S-35s are Heller and the huge pile of coal to the right is comprised of charcoal bits from a fish tank filter.  (table)
3. Another German platoon, supported by an MG, move to close assault a French squad entrenched atop the bluff.  This action is taking place above and to the right of the above shot.  German figures are Revell, french are ESCI.  (table) 3. Inside the station is positioned a Pak 35 37mm gun, protected by SS infantry.  Here, the AT gun (inside the station) tries to engage the British 18 pounder while the infantry watch.  (table)
4. The same picture as at the top of this page.  It shows the Panzer IV platoon moving onto the tanle, directed by 1 Company Commander (right).  First two tanks are Airfix, the third is an Airfix hull with a completely scratchbuilt turret and the fourth is the Edai kit described in 3, above.  Infantry are Revell or converted Revell (the radioman to the left).  (table) 4. British troops get bogged down assaulting the German stronghold in the railway station.  Once the 18 pounder came under fire, these troops moved forward to try and take out the 37mm.  Getting involved with a fire fight with the SS in 3, above, they took considerable losses and were pinned down.   (table)
5. A Panzer IV comes to grief after it advanced past the crossroads and nailed the FT-17 behind the bluff which was holding up the German infantry.  More Germans can be seen racing towards the crossroads.  The Panzer IV is an old Edai snap-together kit from the '70s (converted by marbles hurtling at it which broke off the gun and tool box and battle damage acquired during the dreaded Ant Wars).  A scratch built French 25mm (out of pic, to the left) nailed the Pz IV as it moved towards the church.  (table) 5. An SS squad, suppressed previously by British fire, looks up to see the British jumping into their position.  Both German figures on this stand are Airfix.  The British infantry are Airfix, with the radio guy acting as the platoon commander.   (table)
6. A veteran of the Ant Wars and the garden gaming of the 70's, this Fujimi Pz 38(t) is seen moving past some trees.  Matchbox Germans stand in the background.  (table) 6. An SS MG team and a PC positioned behind the above fray can only watch.  Matchbox troops.  (table)
7. Two shots of one of the Char B1bis (Matchbox) which harried the Germans.  This particular behemoth and its fellow section mate took out a platoon member of the 38(t) in the above picture and three Panzerjaeger Is which tried to manouvre about to take out the French tanks.  (table) 7. After further battles with SS infantry and British, the S-35s push through the woods en route to their objective, a long ridge.  (table)
8. Two Fujimi Panzerjaeger Is, mentioned above, burn along with a third ESCI vehicle out of view.  (table) 8. A close up of an S-35 advancing.  A German 37mm (crew killed) lies abandoned in the background.  (table)
9. More Char B1 bis move toward the German left flank.  (table) 9. British infantry CO (Matchbox tank crewman and Airfix rad op) waves from the ridge, indicating mission complete, objective secure!  (table)
10. ESCI & Matchbox French infantry move into positions in the town along with a Matchbox FT-17.  (table) 10. The British company MG team clean their Vickers in the lee of the ridge.  (table)
11. 2nd and 3rd Company COs of the German reinforcements.  (table) Home
12. A Stug IIID (subbing in for an Ausf A) which supported the initial German attack.   (table)
