Dr. Lisa Rankin is the Principal Investigator of a five-year research project beginning in 2009, dealing with the long-term cultural and social history of the Inuit Métis of southern Labrador. The project incorporates archaeology, ethnography, genealogy and history, and is a collaborative research venture among the Labrador Métis Nation, university researchers, graduate students, other scholars, government agencies and community partners. Funding is provided the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council, under its CURA programme, and by numerous community and government partners.
