University of Toronto Randy McVeigh is full-time research assistant, working in the department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology with Dr. Marie-Josée Fortin. He is using geostatistics and spatial statistics to interpolate and analyse fisheries and environmental data.
Memorial University of Newfoundland Philippe LeBlanc is part-time research assistant working in the department of Geography of Memorial University of Newfoundland with Dr. Rodolphe Devillers. Philippe has a BSc and MSc in Forestry from Laval University and worked with GIS applied to natural resources for several years. Philippe is in charge of the data integration and database management as well as several other tasks related to the project.
Memorial University of Newfoundland Matthew Windle is PhD candidate in Biology at Memorial University of Newfoundland under the supervision of Dr. George Rose, together with Dr. Rodolphe Devillers. He completed his MSc in Biology in 2006 from Memorial University with a focus on cod ecology. Université Laval Valérie Carette is an MSc candidate in Geomatics at Laval University under the supervision of Dr. Mir Abolfazl Mostafavi, together with the Drs Rodolphe Devillers and George Rose. She completed her BSc in Geomatics from Laval and is now working within the GeoCod project to design approaches to characterize fish aggregations at different scales using geospatial techniques.
University of Toronto Jonathan Ruppert is BSc candidate in Zoology at the University of Toronto, under the supervision of Dr. Marie-Josée Fortin. He will use a regression tree technique for his honours thesis project to identify the main environmental variables playing a role in some species abundances and distributions.
Memorial University of Newfoundland Krista is completing a BSc in Geography at Memorial University of Newfoundland and worked as a research assistant with Dr Rodolphe Devillers to integrate fisheries and environmental data from the different partners into the GIS environment.
